Darren John Wilkinson (The Sheddy Man) is certified
contributor for Gardening Homesteading USA Canada. He
has been showcasing his numerous gardening, landscaping,
and smallholding projects on his YouTube channel (I'm In
The Shed). From Cramlington in the United Kingdom, his
garden landscaped, with several outdoor structures, is
constantly evolving. No-dig gardening is his method! His
videos are presented from his shed located on his small
plot, hence his nickname "The Sheddy Man".
In this video, The Sheddy Man explains how to add
eggshells to compost. He shows to us what he does with
them to his compost to degrade over a few years and
aerate it. No drying out in ovens, just let them dry out
naturally and hand crush, slowly but surely.

Adding eggshells to compost
EGGSHELLS... I explain in my
video what I do with them .. adding to my compost to
degrade over a few years .. or as I’m doing now with my
potting on adding a bit to hopefully air rate it a bit
.. not that my homemade compost is compacted.. but I
love to mix it up a bit when it comes to doing stuff ..
bare in mind it isn’t going to add calcium instantly..
but over time the shells will break up and be
incorporated into the big of a compost pile ..
Crushed eggshells
Drying of eggshells?
NO DRYING OUT IN OVENS.. just let them dry out naturally
and hand crush .. Slowly But Surely.. HAPPY SOWING HAPPY
GROWING.
