How to design Raised Bed

Put down wood chip mulch:
 
Place the ramial chipped wood on the cardboard. A layer of 1 foot thick is required.

After few months, this organic material will turn into rich soil.

At this stage, you can begin to plant. You must simply remove the wood chip mulch around the plant and replace it by soil. Planting plant in soil and surround it with RCW material.

Note: No need to break the cardboard with this method.

All next flower beds built for this front yard garden will be covered with organic mulch.

Compost and soil can also be mixed with RCW.

The cardboard will rot and decompose the grass. Both material will turn into a rich soil. The roots of the new plants will get the nutrients in the deconmposed RCW and soil under the cardboard.
