We bought the Sikkens Cetol  Dek Finish. It's a alkyd high solids formulation offers optimum protection, ultimate durability and a beautiful furniture-like appearance with the simplicity of one-product.

This product allows natural characteristic and grain of wood to show through.

When and how to stain your decking?

1. After the
wood cleaning steps with a wood cleaner, allow the surface to dry for 48 hours.

2. Apply between
50° F  (10° C) - 90° F (32° C).


3. Do not apply in direct sunlight, if rain, snow, heavy dew or low temperatures below 40° F (4° C) are expected within 48 hours.

Apply an even coat, in the direction of the wood grain, avoiding heavy application.

Coverage
:

On smooth surfaces, 350-450 sq ft/gallon (9-11 m2/L). Vary depending age and texture of the wood and application method.

Apply wood stain on decking:
 
Ideally, the first coat of Cetol Dek Finish must be applied to all six sides, saturating all end grains, nail holes and cracks in the wood.

Wait 24 hours before applying the second coat.
